Tarzana, CA December 11, 2021 - Steve Brown is a new American author and a proud father with an inspiring storybook about softball for children ages 4 to 8. The title of his new children’s book is Sydney Plays Softball, a story that will introduce the ever-growing sport to children around the world. To kick off this book project, Steve will launch a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter on January 4, 2022, and is welcoming generous support and backing.

“Sydney Plays Softball is a book about a young girl who wonders why so many boys play baseball.  Her father explains it’s because girls play a much harder sport called softball,” says the author.  By introducing this children’s book to the Kickstarter community, the hope is that it will educate and inspire young women to pick up a glove and ball, even try out for a local team.  Steve is offering various reward packages, from e-books, to signed copies as well as equipment and private lessons

The Kickstarter Campaign will go live on January 4, 2022, so until that time, those interested in updates can join the mailing list at www.SydneyPlaysSoftball.com.  Backers from around the world can become a part of this project by making generous pledges and donations. Moreover, the goal of this Kickstarter campaign is to raise a sum of US$ 10,000, which will help cover the costs of illustration, design, editing, and printing.

About This Project

While watching a baseball game with her father, Sydney, an 8 year old energetic girl, wonders why she only ever sees boys playing.  The answer inspires her discovery of softball and how important it is to catch, throw, and hit the big yellow ball.  With a lot of hard work, a great coach, and some silly teammates, Sydney may be able to help the Magical Unicorns win their first game.  Will she strike out or hit a home run? Author Steve Brown, is the father of 2 daughters who played sports throughout their youth, and inspired this story, which he hopes will, in turn,  inspire thousands of young girls around the world to learn more about softball.  The Kickstarter campaign will launch in early 2022 with a release date for the book set for the spring.
